We had the same experience with her doctor being dismissive about a persistent lymph node. Hi! I know this is an old post but I came across then when googling about my daughters swollen lymph node. Reading your comment, was a little bit reassuring. I have a lot of health anxiety, especially when it comes to my kids. I have seen other moms that say their kids aldo had some permanent lymph nodes. She sleeps well, she doesnt sweat a lot (i mean a normal amount for a child), her appetite hasnt changed. She is an active child, she is so energetic. I read a lot on the internet and i feel bad. But i dont know why, these days i am freaking out and constantly touching them. She also had a CBC some month ago, that came back normal. I have asked her doctor who says they are just lymlh nodes. She is a thin girl, so maybe that is why i can see them. They are soft (not very squishy, but definitively not hard) and i can freely move them around. you can see them when she tilts the neck in a certain way. They dont seem to have changed in size (they are pea sized i think, small pea). I noticed them since she was 9 months old and now she is nearly 3 and still has them. My daughter has 2 of them on the right side. And by palpable, I mean you are palpating the area. Palpable lymph nodes are perfectly normal in children and even in thin adults. Bad lymph nodes are hard, fixed, and the skin of them is red. Definitely should always go get them checked out, but soft, non-tender, movable lymph nodes are normal. Once I had a doctor really explain to me what a bad lymph node feels like compared to a normal lymph node, I calmed down about it. At this point, it’s been 2 years and multiple doctors have all said this is a normal, but now permanently enlarged lymph node because I traumatized it. It did get bigger because I kept fucking with it. Well I spent the next few months constantly moving it and touching it. We’ll do testing in a few months if it doesn’t go down. Doctor didn’t really explain this very well and just said teething. In hindsight and after going to nursing school, it was a very normal lymph node that was probably always there but didn’t see it till then. Random lymph node popped up on my daughter.
